When we describe HERE to someone for the first time, their brain reaches for the closest thing it already knows. Usually one of two answers comes back:

"Oh, so it's a CRM."

Or:

"Isn't this basically starred messages in WhatsApp?"

Both are wrong, but instructively wrong. They tell us what people expect a business tool to be. And the gap between those expectations and what HERE actually does is the whole reason we're building it.

What HERE is

HERE is a memory. Not a database, not a dashboard, not a workflow. A memory — the kind you'd have if you could hire a very patient assistant who reads every message you receive, watches every voice note, catches every payment screenshot, and never forgets any of it.

You keep working the way you already work. Customers send you voice notes in Punjabi. Suppliers WhatsApp you photos of bills. You forward the ones that matter to HERE. HERE listens, understands, and remembers.

Later — hours or weeks later — you ask. "Sharma ka bakaya kitna hai?" "Kal Rajinder ne kya order kiya tha?" "Iss mahine sabse zyada kya bika?" HERE searches its memory and answers. In the same language you asked.

That's it. That's the whole product.

HERE is not a system you fill in. It's a memory you feed by forwarding what already happens.

Why it isn't a CRM

A CRM — customer relationship management software — is a database with a form on top. You type in the customer's name. You type in the order. You type in the payment. You update the status. The CRM is only useful in proportion to how much you type into it.

Most small business owners we've met tried a CRM once. They gave up within two weeks. Not because the CRM was bad, but because the CRM was designed for a company that has an operations person whose job is to keep it updated. A one-person business doesn't have that person. So the CRM slowly falls out of sync with reality, and eventually it becomes worse than useless — a source of confidently wrong information.

HERE flips this. There's nothing to type in. You already send voice notes and receive screenshots — that IS the input. HERE watches what you're already doing and remembers it.

CRM
You type in what happened, then look it up later.
HERE
You forward what happened, then ask about it later.
CRM
Requires you to learn its interface, its fields, its workflows.
HERE
Uses WhatsApp — the interface you already know.
CRM
Only as complete as your typing discipline.
HERE
Complete because forwarding is easier than typing.

Why it isn't WhatsApp's built-in features

This is the smarter objection. WhatsApp already lets you star a message, pin a chat, or set a personal reminder. If you're organized, you can use these to build a rough memory. Why do you need HERE?

Because starring a voice note doesn't tell you what's in it. When Rajinder sends you a 45-second voice note in Punjabi about tomorrow's delivery, WhatsApp's star icon can save that message — but three weeks later, when you're trying to remember whether Rajinder ordered 15 sheets or 25, you have to open the voice note and listen to the whole thing again. Multiply that by every customer, every order, every payment.

HERE listens to the voice note once, extracts the details — 15 sheets, tomorrow, same site, payment next week — and stores them as something you can actually query. When you ask "Rajinder ne kal kya bola tha?" you get an answer in three seconds, not a voice note to sit through.

Same with payment screenshots. WhatsApp lets you save the image. HERE reads the amount, the sender, the date, the transaction ID, and remembers all of it as a payment against the right customer.

WhatsApp gives you a filing cabinet. HERE gives you a librarian.

Who HERE is for

HERE is for the person who runs a business by themselves or with a small team. Retailers. Contractors. Distributors. Wholesalers. Service providers. Anyone whose day looks like this:

If that's your day, HERE is built for you.

HERE is not for enterprises. It isn't for teams that already have Salesforce and an ops team. It isn't for anyone who needs analytics dashboards, custom reports, or integrations with 40 other tools. Those problems have their own tools. We're solving a different one.

What HERE does today

The pilot version, live right now with a handful of merchants:

What it doesn't do — and won't, on purpose — is message your customers on your behalf. HERE is your memory, not your outbound. That's a deliberate line, and we'll write more about why in another post.

The one-line version

If you have to explain HERE to a friend in one sentence:

HERE is a WhatsApp memory for your business — you forward what matters, ask anything later, and it remembers everything.

Everything else — the languages, the reminders, the way it handles voice notes and screenshots — is just the plumbing that makes that sentence true.

If that sentence describes a problem you have, the pilot is open. Six months free for the first five merchants who join. Request an invite here.
